In the 34th General Assembly (GA) of the International Union of Biological Sciences (IUBS) (https://iubs.org/) held in Tokyo, Japan, on March 10th to 12th, 2023, Yafang Yin from Research Institute of Wood Industry, Chinese Academy of Forestry, was elected as Executive Committee Member (2023-2026) of IUBS.

IUBS, established in 1919, is a non-governmental and non-profit organization comprising of national academies and international scientific associations and societies. The Executive Committee acts on the decisions made by the GA to fulfill the objectives of the IUBS.

IAWA officially became an IUBS affiliate member in July, 2021. In further, IAWA will strengthen its collaboration with IUBS, and play an important leading role in the science development and technology innovation of global wood, forestry and botany research.
